September is Library Card Sign-up Month, the perfect time to discover everything a Clearwater Public Library card can unlock. More than just a way to borrow books, a library card connects you to resources, technology, creative spaces and experiences that support learning, exploration and lifelong discovery.
This year, Clearwater Libraries joins the American Library Association and libraries nationwide in celebrating Library Card Sign-up Month with the theme, “A library card hits all the right notes!” The campaign highlights the many ways a library card connects people with opportunities to read, learn, create and explore.
Read, Watch and Listen
A Clearwater Public Library card gives you access to thousands of books, eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies and music. Browse the library's physical collections or enjoy digital titles from home with online borrowing available 24/7. Whether you're looking for your next great read, a family movie night or a new podcast companion, there's something for everyone.
Learn Something New
Explore online learning tools, research databases, local history and genealogy resources and educational materials for students, professionals and lifelong learners. Library staff are also available to help you find information, discover new authors and navigate library resources.
Create and Explore
Bring your ideas to life in Clearwater Libraries' Maker Studios, where you can submit 3D print requests, create with 3D printers, laser cutters, sewing machines and other creative technology or participate in hands-on workshops. Borrow games, tools and specialty items from the Library of Things, check out seeds from the Seed Library to start a home garden or reserve Museum Passes for free admission to participating museums and cultural attractions.
Connect with Your Community
A library card also gives you access to free programs and events for all ages, including storytimes, book clubs, workshops, performances and special events throughout the year. Visit the library to use public computers, Wi-Fi, printing and scanning services, reserve meeting rooms or simply enjoy a welcoming space to learn, create and connect.
Join the Celebration
Visit your local Clearwater Public Library branch during Library Card Sign-up Month and take a photo with the giant library card display for a chance to be featured on Clearwater Libraries' social media channels throughout the month.
