Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at Clearwater Main Library?

The city of Clearwater is inviting residents to find out during a free behind-the-scenes "Everyday Clearwater" library tour on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 5:30 p.m.

This guided tour offers a rare opportunity to meet library staff, visit areas of the building that support daily operations and learn how different teams work together to provide the programs, services and resources the community relies on every day.

Participants will visit several library departments, including Circulation and the Creation Studio, Youth and Technical Services, Reference, and the Heritage Studio. Along the way, staff will explain how they help patrons borrow materials, discover books, conduct research, create projects, preserve local history and much more.

Whether you're a frequent library visitor or simply curious about how it all works, this tour offers a new perspective on the people and services that keep Clearwater's library system running.

Adopt-a-Drain on the Roof!

Following the tour, participants are invited to join the Adopt-a-Drain Volunteer Appreciation & Recruitment Night, taking place on the Main Library rooftop from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The free community event will recognize volunteers who have helped adopt nearly 60 storm drains across Clearwater while introducing others to the program. Guests can learn how adopting a storm drain helps reduce localized flooding, improve water quality and protect local wildlife. The evening will also feature volunteer stories, sustainability information, snacks, spooky stories and sunset views over Clearwater Bay.

Registration is required for the behind-the-scenes tour by Tuesday, Oct. 20.
